Entrance Halls -set the tone for your house

If there is one place to make a statement it is your entrance hall!
This can be a fun punchy color you do not want to necissarily sit in all day, but like to look at. 
It can be a cool pattern, with multiple colors, or a slick high gloss vibrant color that unifies the whole house.  Make sure it is a color you look good in and like to look at from other rooms.
If you choose a pattern tie in colors from other rooms in your house; for example if you have a blue dining room and a yellow living room, use a pattern in the entrance that has both blue and yellow and possibly a third color (maybe hot pink or lime green, or even chocolate brown), to add interest.
This is also not a bad place for large scale wallpaper- then paint the other rooms in your house the colors pulled from the wall paper- for flow.
What most people see is your entrance hall, so have fun with it
