Quality of acrylic paints

Every day I am asked to specify a paint color and brand for various paint projects for customers.  Being in this business one should know that the quality ratings change almost every year base upon how much acrylic manufacturers decide to put into their products.

This weekend I had a booksigning at Strosnider's hardware in Bethesda Maryland. It went great, very nice people showed up, and I was happy to see them and be able to answer questions, and sign books.  I loved being there in the paint department talking to the paint manager and the store manager.  I learn so much from others who are in the industry, day in and day out dealing with manufacturers and consumers!

I had never seen a brand of paint called California Paint, and was told it had a great consumer report rating.  It also has wonderful colors and wonderful samples in packaging you can actually put a 2" paint brush into.  I will let you know more about this brand but as a first impression I was extremely impressed!

I finshed the article in The NewYorker...about color, etc.  It was a great article, and of course we all care about the colors that are in and forcasts for consumer products.  These are very important decistions for companies, especially exterior siding.  But as a side note it is most important to live around colors you love and make YOU happy, not necessarily what is "in"
