Nature Inspires My Color Ideas

I was in New York today when a friend and I were discussing color, and how companies choose colors for their products. There is an article my dad sent in The NewYorker magazine this month on a colorist for big companies, I cannot wait to read it tonight. I will let you know how it is.

My friend asked me how I come to some of the combinations of colors I choose for peoples homes. My answer was Nature. Earth, Water, and Air. Land, Sea, and Sky.

I love to fish with my husband, not only is it fun, but the best part for me about catching any fish is observing the colors our wonderful creator chose to put on each fish!
One of my favorite is the sea bass, who when small is THE most beautiful shade of chocolate brown with little aqua blue spots on thier bodies. I have a photographic memory for color, so going back to my office and choosing the same colors I saw when fishing is easy and fun. This is why I love what I do! Color.
