Decorative Art vs. Faux paint

For many years now I have been plagued with the answer to the question, What do you do?

I have been formally trained as a "faux painter". I have taken many classes to learn the art of Faux Paint, which by definition,  is the art of immitation- to immitate with paint marble, stone and various wood grains. Natural substances created with paint.
In my daily work life I am what I call a Decorative Artist- to decorate with paint walls using color, scale, and pattern.  This is not Faux Painting.  Some walls need a little variation and depth while others need more pattern and multiple colors.
To be a Faux Painter, one needs to attend school, to learn how to create natural substances with paint. to immitate.( One of the best in the country is The Isabel O'Neil School based in NYC.)
BUT
to become a decorative artist there is really no "schooling"required. To decorative paint you just need to like and understand what colors can do in a room, like pattern , and understand scale, and like the process of creating with paint on a large scale.
I created Sunny's Goodtime Paints, Inc. for decoraitve artist everywhere. The colors are pre-mixed, dry fairly quickly so you can layer and stencil in no time.
You can use our products to create a room in one day, wash it with color, and a stencil and voila you are finished!

Not all "faux" painters are decorative artist, and not all decorative artist are faux painters!
There is a difference!

more later-
happy painting!
